Student Visas

The Student visa allows non-EEA nationals to come to Ireland to pursue a full-time course of study for over 3 months. Applicants must meet financial and academic requirements.

Description

The application documents and process varies for visa-required versus non visa-required applicants. But all student applicants must meet financial and academic criteria.

  • Non-EEA citizens can apply for courses longer than 3 months that are on the Interim List of Eligible Programmes.
  • Applicants must provide acceptance letter, English proficiency, course fees, living costs, medical insurance, and ties to home country.
  • Visa-required nationals apply online for a D Study visa before travelling.
  • Non-visa required nationals get student permission when registering after arrival.
  • Students can work part-time up to 20 hours weekly during term.
  • Course extensions and student visa renewals can be done online in some cases.
